Abstract

Plant-based diets have garnered much attention for their capacity to halt and even reverse chronic diseases. However, to our knowledge, no comprehensive hospital inpatient plant-based program existed prior to the implementation of the one at Montefiore Health System. Herein, we describe our 6-step plan used to devise and implement this program. The goal of plant-based diets have garnered much attention for their capacity to halt and even reverse chronic diseases. However, to our knowledge, no comprehensive hospital inpatient plant-based program existed prior to the implementation of the one at Montefiore Health System. Herein we describe our six-step plan used to devise and implement this program. The goal of this article is to serve as a resource for other systems interested in starting such a program.
